    On August 14, a congratulatory ceremony was held on the north lawn at Dahl Memorial Healthcare in honor of Belle Wendelburg. Wendelburg was named Montanan of the Week by Senator Steve Daines earlier this year. Nathan Adams, a representative from the senator's office, traveled to Ekalaka to officially recognize her.     Ekalaka Town Council members recently notified the Carter County Election Administrator that they do not wish to have a primary for the upcoming mayor/council election. Thus, municipal office elections will be held with the general election on Tuesday, November 7.     Like so many others around the U.S., Ekalaka Elementary students and their teachers took some time on Monday to view the solar eclipse. Locally, the eclipse started at about 10:26 a.m. and ended at about 1:09 p.m. The maximum eclipse was at 11:46 a.m., when the moon blocked around ninety percent of the sun. To see the total eclipse, Ekalaka residents would have had to travel about 230 miles as the crow flies, or drive 300 or more miles to a town like Casper, WY. All the elementary classrooms...

    On Friday, August 18, 2017, Mid-Rivers Telephone Cooperative, Inc. mailed capital credit checks of approximately $1,004,000 to its members and patrons. The 2017 distribution of capital credits represents 100% of the remaining balance of the 1993 patronage allocation, 11% of the remaining unretired balance of the year 1994, as well as 5% of the 2016 patronage allocation.     Hello, By the time you read this, the eclipse will have passed. Hopefully you did not stare at the sun for two and a half hours so you can still read.
