Jr. high volleyball continues busy season

On September 1st junior high volleyball traveled to Broadus for the first games of the season. The B team consisting of 5th and 6th grade girls had their first game jitters and lost 18-25, 12-25, 7-15. The A team consisting of 7th and 8th graders played a tough game but split with Broadus, and came out on top to win the match. The scores were 25-14, 18-25, 16-14. Kenzie Tooke was top server for the match with 12 aces.

We played Wibaux in Ekalaka on September 7th. B team won 25-8, 25-18, 15-12. The top serving scorer was Brynn Loehding, who had 15 aces in the match. A team split with Wibaux but won the match 25-21, 16-25, 15-7. Top servers were Amaya Rios and Heidi LaBree.

Jordan hosted a junior high tournament on September 9th. There were seven teams participating in the tournament and we placed 4th after playing four games. Our first game we played Jordan’s A team and lost 7-25, 15-25. The next game was against the Broadus B team and Ekalaka came out on top 25-16, 25-21. Then we played the Broadus A team, winning 25-11, 25-16. Our 4th game was split with Melstone but Melstone won the match, 20-25, 25-21, 10-15. Top servers for the day were Kenzie Tooke, Heidi LaBree and Amaya Rios.

On September 15th we traveled back to Jordan. Our B team lost the match 18-25, 19-25, 15-10. Top servers for the game were Tegan Diede and Nicole O’Connell. The A team played really well, making good passes and setting it up to make some great plays. The sets were close but we couldn’t come out with the win, 22-25, 23-25, 9-15. Top servers were Heidi LaBree, Amaya Rios and Kenzie Tooke.

Terry came to Ekalaka for one junior high match. Scores were: 25-8, 25-18, 15-7. Brynn Loehding was top server for the match.

On September 23rd Jordan came to Ekalaka. The B team played well but lost the match, 14-25, 21-25, 16-14. Jennie Schmid and Brynn Loehding were top servers for this game. The A team lost the first set, but rallied back, working together as a team, and won the next two sets. Scores for the game were: 18-25, 25-22, 15-9. Amaya Rios and Heidi LaBree were top servers for this game.

We traveled to Buffalo, South Dakota on September 25th. The B team played really good as a team in close sets, but couldn’t come out with the win, 20-25, 24-26, 12-15. The A team played team ball and won the match, 25-20, 25-19, 17-15. Top servers were Katy Ivy, Heidi LaBree and Kenzie Tooke.
