Notice is hereby given that the Carter County Board of Commissioners is seeking bids for the design and construction of a new structure over Little Beaver Creek on the Old Baker HWY located in the SE4 of Township 3 North 59 East in Section 8. The structure will be approximately 180 feet in length and 3 span, allowing for a 24 foot wide driving lane constructed on driven steel piling. A vertical back wall design of 8-10 feet high is required to optimize the water carrying capacity of the structure. The project must be designed by a Montana licensed P.E. with a HS-20 design. Material must be new. Design and type of material used is subject to approval by the county before a contract is awarded. Road and approaches to be built by Carter County Road Department to meet up with bridge. The contractor is required to obtain all permits required. The new project shall be designed for a 100 year service life with minimal maintenance. The current crossing will be used for the detour and shall remain intact upon satisfactory completion of the new bridge. Bidders must show proof of being a Registered Contractor in Montana and must show proof of all employees being covered by Workman’s Compensation Insurance and Liability Insurance in the amount of $2,000,000. The successful bidder must give Carter County at least 48 hour notice before work begins. The project must be completed no later than June 2020. Carter County reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Bids will be reviewed for product quality as well as the lowest bid. The structure design build must be submitted for county review and approval before the contract is awarded. Carter County may at its discretion, choose to segregate payments to be done in separate budget years or to negotiate payment arrangements. Sealed bids may be mailed to Carter County Commission, PO Box 315, Ekalaka, MT 59324 or hand delivered to the Commission Office at 214 Park Street in Ekalaka, Montana.
