    Carter County High School gymnasium was alive with color on Saturday, February 3, as Bulldog fans dressed to show their support for cancer research. The William C. Rowley Chapter of National Honor Society sponsored their annual “Fight with Bulldog Power” event that afternoon during the basketball games between Wibaux and Carter County. Fans were encouraged to wear bright colors representing the colors of awareness ribbons for various cancers.     Carter County Commissioners recently received word that the Montana Department of Revenue (DOR) will be closing their office located inside Carter County Courthouse. A letter from the DOR to the commissioners received at the end of January states: “The Department is facing significant budget reductions in the current biennium, which necessitates our reducing and relocating staff.” Current DOR staff will be leaving the office inside Carter County Courthouse on or before February 15, 2018.     Members of the VFW Auxiliary to Post 7885 recently sent out coloring contest sheets to students around the county in grades K-3. The picture for the contest depicts praying hands underneath the American Flag. In order to be eligible to win the contest, the students must color the flag correctly.     CCHS Girls Basketball won three games last week and are currently in first place in the district. On Tuesday, the girls played Custer/Hysham at home, a game that was postponed earlier in the season. The girls had no problem as they took a 14 point lead in the first quarter while holding the Rebels scoreless. They eventually won, 54-14.     CCHS Boys Varsity narrowly pulled off the win against the Custer/Hysham Rebels last Tuesday. The game was pretty close throughout. Both teams had similar numbers in rebounds and turnovers. Shay Adler for the Rebels put up 27 points, slightly out-dueling Caleb Fix from CCHS who had 25. Fix got really hot in the second quarter and continued his shooting partway into the third quarter.     Last Tuesday the JV boys basketball team beat Custer/Hysham by 19 at home. CCHS only shot 3-12 on free throws, but won the turnover differential by 5. Turner Tooke finished the game in double digit points with 10. CCHS 13 17 - 30 Custer/Hysham 3 8 - 11 Turner Tooke 10, Ryan Rychner 7, Dylan King 6, Seth Kennedy 5, Cameron Wolenetz 2.
