  • Medicaid eligibility redeterminations and renewals to resume in April

    The Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) began conducting Medicaid and Healthy Montana Kids (HMK) eligibility redeterminations on April 1 for the first time in three years. Federal requirements during the COVID-19 pandemic led to the suspension of annual redeterminations, in order to keep every individual enrolled in Medicaid covered throughout the pandemic. Most of south central Montana received two to four feet of heavy wet snow during a three day storm. Much of it came down horizontally, but it piled up, crusted, and made a terrible back drop for the busiest calving weeks of calving season for many of us.     In 2022, 17 agricultural producers across Montana received more than $2.3 million in direct funds through USDA Rural Development’s Value- Added Producer Grant (VAPG) program which helps these businesses generate new products, create, and expand marketing opportunities, and increase overall producer income with the goal of growing local economies in rural areas.     Learn to hunt from the pros! Six youth will be selected to participate in a guided turkey hunt. The National Wild Turkey Federation will provide a guide for each youth.     Gumbo Gophers by Reporter Suri Ellen Johnston On March 31 the Gumbo Gophers 4-H club had a meeting in Alzada. Eleven youth and 7 adults were in attendance.     The Mid-Rivers Communications Board of Trustees recently approved two Fiber to the Premises (FTTP) rural broadband projects for 2023 construction.
