    In the early morning hours of Monday, July 11th, Ekalaka briefly reached a low temperature of 34 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. That temp shatters a record low for July 11th, besting the previous mark by 5 degrees. The low for July 13th was previously 39 degrees and has been recored three times; in 1950, 1961 and 1971.     The U.S. Postal Service raised the price of mailing a first-class letter effective Sunday. A “forever” stamp now costs 60 cents. In addition to the two-cent price increase on first-class stamps, other postal services will also cost more.
