    It is a tough year in Montana with heat, drought, grasshoppers, and wildfires. My heart breaks for the affected landowners, because I have been there several times. We have had four major fires burn through our Musselshell ranch in 1996, 1998, 2000, and 2012.     The public is invited to attend the Carter County 4-H and FFA livestock market sale on Saturday, August 10th, beginning at 3:30 p.m. The annual sale will take place at the fairgrounds show arena in Ekalaka.     Carter County Deputy Sheriff Jim Bailey officially retired this week after twenty years of dedicated service to the county. Deputy Bailey was hired by former Carter County Sheriff Rusty Jardee on June 25th, 2004 and completed his service with Sheriff Neil Kittelmann on Wednesday.
