Last week’s blood drive in Ekalaka fell short of goal, according to coordinator Darlene-Carter Rose. The drive yielded twenty-four units of blood from 22 donors, one number shy on both accounts. Some of the donors with scheduled appointments were sick and a few were turned away because it hadn’t been long enough since they last donated. Both were factors that contributed to the drive not reaching it’s goal, Carter-Rose said. The drive was moved up one week due to scheduling conflicts. Sagebrush Service Club will once again be sponsoring a holiday bazaar in Ekalaka. The annual event will take place on Saturday, November 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Carter County High School. Free babysitting for preschool age children will be provided throughout the day, and lunch, coffee and pie will be available. Door prizes will be drawn every 30 minutes. Interested vendors may rent a 8’ x 6’ space for $20, or a 5’ x 6’ space for $10.00. Vendors may begin setting up at 8 a.m. on the morning of the bazaar and must provide their own tables....

Gayetta Mader, age 101, of Biddle, Montana passed away on September 9, 2019 in Omaha, Nebraska. Gayetta Maurine Mader was born September 6, 1918. She was adopted as an infant by Lester and Estella (Thrailkill) Kellogg. She spent her early years in Idaho and Montana as her dad moved around often for work. CCHS took care of business against conference opponent Culbertson last Friday night at Rowley Field. Again, Blue's ability to run the ball offensively and stop the run defensively were paramount to victory. Against the Terry Terriers last Friday night at home, the Bulldog volleyball team won a match in three sets, 25-19, 25-15 and 25-16.
