    It has been a busy couple of months for Ekalaka Public Library. Pat Kalstrom is taking some time off, so I (Torey Spring) am the interim director until she returns. Get well soon, Pat! The library has been making monthly visits to the country schools in our county including Hawks Home, Hammond, and Alzada schools. In January I was able to see 26 kids, in total, who checked out 58 books. Visiting the country schools and delivering books is one of my favorite parts of the job.     Ekalaka Public Library is once again offering a summer reading program. All children ages three and up are invited to attend. Two different age groups will meet each day beginning Tuesday, July 26th, and ending Friday, July 29th.     Countywide voter turnout for the primary election on Tuesday was nearly sixty-three percent, down from 73 percent in 2020. In total, 579 ballots were cast from the county's 922 registered voters.
