Dogs and firearms

Ekalaka Town Council would like to remind dog owners—per town ordinance—that dogs in the town of Ekalaka must be restrained by an adequate fence, be on a leash, or under the direct control of the owner at all times. Dogs will not be permitted to run at large. It is the duty of every owner of any dog to know the dog’s whereabouts at all times.

Dogs within town limits also need to be licensed each year. The ordinance allows for fines to be imposed for violations.

In addition, it is unlawful for any person to discharge firearms within town limits; except for on duty law enforcement officers....
