Last week's blood drive a success

The blood drive held last Tuesday in Ekalaka was one of the more successful ones held in recent years.

Twenty eight people were at the drive, but only 23 were able to give blood. Seven double units were given as the drive yielded 30 total units. There was also one short and one deferral.

Jeff Venhaus won a $25 cash door prize. Two youngsters also received tee-shirts at the drive for good behavior while their parents gave blood.

The next drive will be held September 12, 2017 from 1:45 PM to 5:30 PM at Carter County Events Center.
