Wranglers make fairground improvements

Fair is just around the corner and those partaking in the many events may need to sit and take a rest. Puptown Wranglers 4-H Club has made that easier by building two benches and two tables for the fairgrounds.

The 4-H club recently applied and received a rural community development grant from the Montana Department of Agriculture and received generous donations from Homemaker Heritage, Fallon/Carter Homemaker Council, Puptown Pioneer Homemakers, Bruski Fencing, and Rodeo Rigs to pay for the materials. The group met on July 17 and went to work extending continuous fence at the fairgrounds and building the benches and tables.

Next spring they plan to plant trees at the fairgrounds and in Alzada.

After the work was completed the club joined MSU Extension staff member Kodie Olsen for a Creativity Corner workshop. At the workshop, they created coasters using old tiles and modge podge. The day concluded with the group testing their culinary skills, roasting hotdogs and creating their own campfire ice-cream cone s'mores.

Puptown Wranglers club members were very gracious for the funding they received as well as the help they got from several businesses and families who donated time and equipment including: A&A Stieg, Fruit Service & Repair, Carter County commissioners, Seth Whitney, Tenadore Kittelmann, Jeff Elmore, Wayne Yost, the Bonsell Family, the LaBree Family, the Schallenberger Family, and all of the 4-H members and their families.
