Days of '85 Bump-N-Run

Saturday, August 12th was a perfect day for racing in Ekalaka. A total of 27 cars raced: 16 stock, 8 modified, and 3 pickups. Four locals were signed up to race, but after one had last-minute car issues, just three racers from Carter County were left: Shay Beyer, Doug Stieg, and Justin Stieg. All three racers had strong outings.

After winning his heat, Beyer was just edged out by Evan Miller and placed second in Limited A Main. Justin Stieg also won his heat heading into Limited Main, while Doug Stieg placed third in his heat; both racers looked strong heading into the final stock race. The me...
