A strong second quarter helped the Lady Bulldogs get the win over Melstone last Thursday in Ekalaka. They outscored Melstone by nine in the quarter, and eventually won by a total of 11.

CCHS lost the turnover battle 21-17, but more than made up for it in the rebound category by out-rebounding the Broncs 21-11. Claire Callahan had 9 of those rebounds rounding out what was, perhaps, her best game of the season so far. She just missed out on a double-double as she also had 14 points.

CCHS shot 72% on free throws, compared to 67% for Melstone. The Dogs also out shot the Broncs on two-point field goals, 52% to 42%, and three-point field goals, 30% to 25%.

This Friday the Lady Bulldogs will take on Jordan at home. On Saturday, the JV girls will play a game in Plevna. Then, on Tuesday, CCHS basketball will play games against Custer/Hysham.

CCHS 13 13 10 20 - 56

Melstone 11 4 12 18 - 45

Heather LaBree 16, Claire Callahan 14, Tori Tooke 13, Hannah LaBree 7, Kari Kittelmann 6
