Gardening opportunities

March 23, 2018

Do you need help diagnosing a horticulture related issue or question? Are you trying to figure out what is wrong with your trees? Need help planning a garden or coming up with a landscape plan for your yard? Do you think that you have a plant disease or insect affecting your yard plants and trees?

MSU Extension Horticulture Specialist Toby Day will be conducting site visits on March 30 around Fallon and Carter counties, providing an opportunity to get expert opinions that will help get the growing season off to a good start. Interested individuals are asked to contact the Fallon/Carter County Extension Office to schedule a visit by calling (406) 778-7110 or emailing [email protected].

In addition to the site visit, residents may attend gardening classes on March 29 and March 31 in Baker. Contact the Extension Office to register by Tuesday March 27.

The class taking place on March 29 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. will focus on vegetable gardening.

A longer class on March 31 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. will focus on maintaining trees and shrubs.

This will be a class room experience with hands-on instruction. Lunch will be provided

Those interested in participating in a beginner to intermediate level gardening class in Ekalaka should contact Elin Kittelmann at the extension office by April 1. If there is enough interest, another gardening series will be offered in Ekalaka in April.
