Levy for high school general fund passes

Four hundred ninety-four ballots were counted following the regular school election on May 8 in Carter County. That’s roughly 57% of the registered voters in the county. Of those 494, 305 were in favor of the general fund increase, while 189 were against it.

The levy authorizes the school board to impose an increase in local taxes to support the high school’s general fund.
