Pet parade rolls in and out

August 17, 2018

Conner Castleberry and Kimber with Stormy the pony at the pet parade.

Despite temperatures in the upper realms, the 2018 Pet Parade came in and out with only a few glitches and hitches. Most of the animal entries were panting and huffing as their handlers were sweating.

Entries were down somewhat this year but considering the hot weather, there were enough hardy souls to put on a great show for an appreciative audience in the bleachers.

There were some fascinating entries and a very decorative, cowboy/clown announcer, Susan Tooke, to complement them. Ringmasters Kendra Tooke and Dr. Kerri Marshall rounded up the crew splendidly.

The three judges found a shaded table under the bleacher roof and were able to get a tough job done. Thank you to Cindy Enos, Luella Strangford and Kenzie Tooke, the mystery judge.

Judges, family, friends and Pet Parade staff are always amazed at the creativity and color promenading around the area this time of year.

Thanks to everyone and especially the ONE who did not rain on OUR PARADE!
