Ladies day on the range

Women who participated in the recent range tour put on by Carter County Conservation District and the local NRCS office

The Carter County Conservation District, along with the local NRCS office, hosted a fun, educational event focusing on women in agriculture.

The range tour started at the Fix Farm on Beaver Flats. There, Robbie Fix talked about the effort it requires to grow a successful shelterbelt. The women then headed to the Castleberry Ranch to focus on weed management and plant identification.

To tie everything together, the Little Beaver Conservation District traveled down from Baker and presented their rainfall simulator, capitalizing on how soil health is impacted by different management systems. T...
