CCHS senior football players Caleb Fix and Mason Lovec will remember their final home game as a win after the Bulldogs trounced the Center-Stanton Wildcats 54-22 last Friday at Rowley Field.

CCHS took control of the game early on with a 25 yard touchdown run from Fix.

On their first defensive series of the game, defensive ends Mick O'Connor and Caleb Fix forced three Wildcat fumbles. All three were recovered by the Wildcats and the third was recovered in the end zone, tying the game at 6.

On the next possession, freshman Turner Tooke connected on a 43 yard pass to O'Connor. A pass from Tooke to Jared Pardee added the extra point. Later in the first quarter Fix scored from 5 yards out and Lovec ran in the extra point to give Blue a 20-6 lead after the first quarter.

In the second, Tooke again connected on a pass to O'Connor, this time from 11 yards out. The extra point was converted on another pass from Tooke to Pardee.

The ensuing kickoff was one of the only blemishes the Dogs had on the day as they weren't able to cover, allowing Ethan Hammons to run it back 62 yards for a score. The Wildcats kicked the conversion, drawing to within 13 points.

Around a minute later, Fix scored on a 58 yard run. Tooke tossed another extra point conversion following the score, this time to Fix.

O'Connor had a strip sack and returned the fumble for a 15 yard touchdown on the next Bulldog defensive series. He also caught the extra point. At the end of the half, Blue was on top, 41-14.

The Dawgs were able to chew the clock on a long drive in the third quarter. They scored only once on an 8 yard connection from Tooke to Brennen Bonsell. Bonsell also caught the extra point.

At the nine minute mark in the final quarter, the Bulldogs allowed Center-Stanton's only other score on a 5 yard pass. Again, the wildcats successfully kicked the conversion. With just under seven minutes to play, Fix ran one in from 16 yards out. The score was the final of the game as Blue won, 54-22.

This Friday night the Bulldogs will wrap up their season in Jordan against the Mustangs who are currently third in the conference and ranked seventh in the state.
