Pictured above are students from CCHS. Thanks to Southeast Electric's grant – their futures are so bright, they have to wear shades!

In the Fall of 2017, the superintendent of Ekalaka Public Schools asked for an energy audit of the new elementary building and the high school. Chad Reisenauer from Basin Electric traveled to Ekalaka and was glad to see LED lighting in the new building. While at the school, he noticed that the gym lights had been changed to LED. Reisenauer had suggested this during a previous audit and was happy to see that it had been done. Reisenauer also suggested the school research changing all lighting in the high school to LED, an expensive project.

Southeast Electric then went to the superintendent and posed a proposition for a grant to help them replace all the lighting in the high school. During the summer of 2018, the entire high school was switched over to LED lighting. According to records at Southeast Electric, it appears that the school is showing an approximate savings of $100 to $300 per month.
