Father Thomas Tobin celebrated his 85th Birthday in Ekalaka last Wednesday.

A large group of friends helped Father Thomas Tobin celebrate his 85th birthday at the St. Joan of Arc Parish Hall last Wednesday. The St. Joan of Arc parish hosted dinner.

About Father Thomas Tobin

Thomas Tobin was born on January 30, 1934 in Ireland. He was ordained as a Catholic Priest on June 14, 1959 in Graffon, Tipperary, Ireland.

In 1959 he moved from Ireland to Billings where he was an assistant at St. Piux X in Billings, MT.

Then, in 1960 Fr. Tobin was assigned to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Livingston.

Over the next few years he spent time in Great Falls as an assistant, in Columbus as an administrator, and in Hilger as a priest.

In 1968 Fr. Tobin became the priest at St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church in Big Sandy.

After almost ten years, he moved to Baker to serve as priest at St. John the Evangelist Church. He also served in Plevna. In 1992 Fr. Tobin took over at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Ekalaka.

In 2015, he retired and moved from Baker to Ekalaka. Even though he is "retired," he celebrates daily Mass for the folks in Ekalaka.

Fr. Tobin wrote about the party, "...I had to do it, I had to go along with it, and I am so glad I did. I loved it."
