The CCHS boys basketball team opened their tournament play against the Rebels of Custer/Hysham. The Bulldogs had a big first quarter, outscoring the Rebels 18-2. They were up by 31 at halftime. The game was light on fouls. Combined, the teams shot only 16 free throws and committed 17 fouls. The boys cruised to a forty point opening win, 61-21. Jared Pardee was the games high scorer with 23 points.

The boys played Wibaux in their second tourney game. They had a four point lead at halftime and were down by 4 at the end of the third. Wibaux's Cobe Begger took over the game in the fourth quarter, scoring 19 of his 33 points in the frame. Ten of them came from the free throw line. Jared Pardee hit a pair of three-pointers late, but the foul game didn't pan out for the Dogs as they eventually lost by 10. Wibaux shot 15 for 19 from the charity stripe, compared to 8 for 12 for CCHS.

In the consolation bracket, CCHS first took on Jordan. Caleb Fix had a huge game that proved instrumental in propelling the Bulldogs to victory. The senior scored 20 points, 9 of which came in the fourth quarter. The boys did a good job limiting mistakes as they had only 17 turnovers in the game. Jordan's Keenan Murnion led all scorers with 25 points.

The Bulldogs faced rival Broadus in the third-fourth place consolation game on Saturday evening. Broadus has steadily improved their play throughout the season under former CCHS coach Mike Richards, and the game proved a tough test for the Bulldogs. The Hawks were down by four at the start of the fourth but made up the deficit, due in-large-part to Clay LaPlant who had 10 points in the quarter. Broadus was able to force overtime.

With the game tied and only seconds left in overtime, freshman Turner Tooke stole the ball from a Broadus player and made a layup at the other end, lifting Blue to a two-point, last second victory.
