FIX earns MVP at Montana 6-Man All-Star Game

Last Saturday, Caleb Fix played in his final 6-Man football game. Fix, one of this year's six graduates from CCHS, was selected as this year's most valuable player for the Bulldogs back in April.

Throughout his football career in Ekalaka, he played several different positions on defense and was used primarily as a running back on offense. He was also elected as Mr. Offense upon conclusion of his junior season, and made the All-State Class C 6-Man team this year.

In Custer at last week's all-star game, Fix caught a touchdown pass in the first quarter to give his team a 16-6 lead. The opposing side took an 18-16 lead on the last play of the half and never trailed again. Fix's team scored with 46 seconds left and made the extra point to close the gap to 33-32, but missed a chance at recovering an onside kick that could have extended the game.

On defense, Fix was in on several tackles from his linebacker position. Though his team lost, his efforts were noticed and he was selected as the team's defensive MVP.

Next year, CCHS will be competing in Montana 8-Man football. Fix plans on attending Montana State University where he will study Fish and Wildlife Management.

Caleb is the youngest son of Robbie and Jana Fix of Ekalaka.
