There will be a Hunter Education Adult Online Field Day in Miles City on June 22.

There will be a Hunter Education Adult Online Field Day in Miles City on Saturday, June 22. Interested people may register online now at fwp.mt.gov under the Education tab. Class size is limited to 30 people.

This event is for those who have completed Hunter Education online and need a field course to complete their Hunter Education certification. Registrants are to meet at the Fish, Wildlife and Parks Region 7 headquarters in Miles City located at 352 I-94 Business Loop at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Students must bring proof of completion of the online course.

Activities will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at FWP. Students will have an hour for lunch (lunch is not provided) from 12-1 p.m., and the final field course will be held at nearby Spotted Eagle Recreation Area, off of Garryowen Road, from 1-2 p.m.

Registrants are encouraged to bring their hunting/survival pack if they have one to wear through the field course. DO NOT BRING FIREARMS OR AMMUNITION. Inert firearms will be provided for hands-on skill work and the field course. Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring water, as it may be hot and students will be hiking through tall grass and a wooded area.

Bowhunter Education courses available this summer, fall in Region 7:

People can still take a Bowhunter Education course this summer and fall to prepare for hunting season. All registrants must be 10 years old by the first day of the course in order to participate.

BROADUS

A Bowhunter Education course will be held in Broadus on June 22-23 at the Powder River County Courthouse. Class size is limited to 25 seats.

This class is for first-time Montana youth and adult bowhunters. No online students will be accepted. Attendance on both days is required. Youths need to bring a parent with them on the first day to sign permission slips. Please print out the "required" forms online and bring them to the first class.

Also, everyone is required to register online in advance by June 14, at the FWP website under Hunter Education Programs. The course will take place at instructor Jeff Noble's office at the courthouse in Broadus. Everyone is welcome, and the class is free of charge.

All new bowhunters are required to complete this course. For more information, please contact Jeff Noble at 436-2365 or 853-3153 or Shawn Wahl at 436-2393. You must also pick up your class materials from Jeff at the courthouse during business hours by June 14, so that you can review them in advance.

All chapter quizzes must be completed before the class begins. Meal breaks will be planned, but meals will not be provided. Students are encouraged to bring their own meals, snacks and drinks. Bringing a bow to the class is not required but is recommended for the field day session on Sunday.

GLENDIVE

A Bowhunter Education course is slated for Glendive on June 24-27 at Dawson Community College Room UC102. Twenty seats are available.

This class is to aid students in obtaining a Montana archery license.

Class will meet from 6-9 p.m. each evening. The last day will be the field day and test. Class on June 27 may be moved from the evening to the morning.
