Eagle receives 9 first place awards at Montana Newspaper Association convention

 


The Ekalaka Eagle won twenty-five awards, including nine first place awards, at the Better Newspaper Awards ceremony during the 134th Montana Newspaper Association annual convention held June 7 and 8 at Big Sky Resort in Big Sky, Montana. The awards were given for content produced throughout 2018 in categories including advertising, photography, feature story, layout and design, graphics, website and video. The Eagle competed in Division 1 with 33 other weekly newspapers state-wide with circulations of 1,250 or less.

The Eagle also received the General Excellence award for Division 1, the top honor in the division. Competition judging was completed this year by members of the Michigan Press Association.

The mission of Montana Newspaper Association is to advance and sustain the news publishing industry in Montana. The association has 85 professional member newspapers and was established in 1885. Eric Lovec of the Eagle was also elected to the MNA board at this year’s convention.
