4-H news

The Gumbo Gophers 4-H club met on January 10th, at the home of Lisa Borchgrevink. Special guests were Michael Millward, county agent and Kodie Olsen, 4-H assistant. Other guests were Rhett Borchgrevink; Ashley, Atreyu, and Wyllow Tauck; Staci, Grace, and Elizabeth Hall; Amanda, Joby and Rayna Owens; and Tessa, Grady, and Lily Ann Tauck. Members present were Colin and Clancy Higgins, Natalie and Alivia Foxley and Tylinn Thomas. Leaders present were Terri Raye McInerney, Lisa Borchgrevink, Crystal Higgins and Thebea Thomas.

Kodie had us make hearts weaving paper.

Vice President Natalie called the meeting to order.

The pledges were said. Roll call was answered by naming your favorite craft. Shooting sports and youth day at the Black Hills Stock Show were discussed. It was decided to have our annual chili supper on February 14th at the Alzada Hall. Money made from this fundraiser goes to the Alzada fire department and to the 4-H club. Anyone wanting to donate to the silent auction, please contact a 4-H member. After the meeting Michael had a demonstration on the desirability of grass. Lisa had pizza and snacks. The next meeting will be on February 14th at the Alzada Hall.
