Charles "Chuck" Edward Livingston

Charles Edward Livingston II, 89, of Belle Fourche died March 10, 2020 at the Belle Estate in Belle Fourche.

Charles was born June 22, 1930 at Camp Crook, SD to Charles Edward and Bessie (McFarland) Livingston. He started his education in Camp Crook, SD and continued till the 11th grade in Glendive, MT. Chuck married Agnes Richmond June 8, 1951 at Ekalaka, MT. To this union was born Tamara, Codra, Leonard and Chuck III. Agnes died August 24, 1981.

After selling the ranch he spent 4 years at Hammond, MT where he owned a grocery store. The family moved to Dickinson, ND where Chuck starting working for a moving company and one of his most arduous jobs was moving a grain elevator to Ekalaka. Following that he lived a short time in Poplar, MT in 1958 where he worked in the Big Piney oil fields. In 1962 the family moved to Belle Fourche and he worked for Western Ready Mix for a while and also for the Ernie Brammer ranch. A short time later Chuck started Livingston Plumbing which he owned and operated until retiring in 2006. During this time, he married Wilfreda Bunney September 11, 1982. Wilfreda died March 14, 2017.

Over the years Chuck has gone far and above the call of duty in representing the Belle Fourche Lions Club and District 5SW and has chaired many lion's projects in the community and has provided his time and expertise and hard work to others. He co-chaired 2 fall rallies and also served on the 5SW cabinet as Youth Exchange, Leo Chairman and was Regional Zone Chairman for 3 years. Chuck was the 5SW District Lions Governor from 1990 to 1991. He received the District Governors Award and served 5 years on the long-range planning committee. While District Governor he served on the Sight and Service Foundation Board. He helped chair the MD5 Convention at Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Chuck faithfully served the Lions Club for 53 years with perfect attendance.

Chuck was a member of the Softball League, served 3 times on the Belle Fourche City Council and served on the City Planning Committee. He served 3 times as Governor of the Moose Lodge from 1998 to 2003. Chuck was a long-time member of the Belle Fourche Fire Department.

He is survived by a daughter, Tamara Sether of CA; sons, Leonard Livingston of Ekalaka, MT and Charles Edward Livingston III of Sioux Falls, SD; step-daughter, Cheryl (Neal) Talkington of Casper, WY; step-sons, Alvin (Holly) Fowlkes of Custer, WI and Larry (Terry) Fowlkes of Aladdin, WY; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Agnes and second wife, Wilfreda; a daughter, Codra Antall and 4 half-brothers and 4 half-sisters.

A visitation will be held Monday, March 16 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Kline Funeral Chapel in Belle Fourche.

Funeral services were held March 17 at the First Baptist Church in Belle Fourche. Interment followed at Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche.

The family suggests memorials to the Belle Fourche Lions Club and the Belle Fourche Fire Department.
