School District 56 election results

Votes for the School District 56, Alzada, trustee mail ballot election were counted on Tuesday evening at Carter County Courthouse. Unofficial results show that John Courtney defeated Tara Lynn Thomas for election to the board. Courtney received 35 votes while Thomas had 19.

In total, 98 ballots were mailed to active voters in the district. Four of those ballots were returned as undeliverable. Fifty-four ballots were counted for a 56 percent voter turnout....
