County to redo School District 56 election

Due to a conversion error when School District 22, Ridge, consolidated with School District 56, Alzada, multiple registered voters did not receive mail ballots for the recent School District 56 election. Since those voters were unable to cast ballots, there will be another School District 56 election. The election date will be set after a timeline is received from the county attorney.

Ninety-eight ballots were mailed in the first election and 54 were returned.

On the ballot is a three-year term for the School District 56 board. Both Tara Lynn Thomas and John Courtney filed for election.
