Community garage sale falls victim to coronavirus

Ekalaka’s annual community wide garage sale, usually held on the first weekend in June, has been called off by Carter County Chamber of Commerce officials.

Chamber members who attended a regular meeting earlier this month discussed options for holding the event. The sale is traditionally held each year, rain or shine, but the pandemic created a new and unexpected factor.

After requesting and receiving guidelines from public health officials for holding the event, a motion was made, and vote passed, to hold off on the community wide garage sale for now.
