A wet start to June

According to the National Weather Service, Ekalaka received 1.05 inches of rain on Sunday evening. The downpour came in a matter of minutes a left some of Ekalaka's streets underwater for a short time. High winds accompanied the thunderstorm, making it difficult to measure the actual precipitation. Some residents around the county reported receiving as much as 2 inches during the storm.

Year to date, the NWS has recorded 6.29 inches of precipitation in Ekalaka, about .5 inches less than normal.
