The Art of Emergency Care lands at CCM

Carter County Museum, in collaboration with the National EMS Museum, presents The Art of Emergency Care exhibition opening June 27, 2020 in the Central Schoolhouse Gallery. The exhibit features objects from the National EMS Museum's collections and explores how art can educate, inform and save lives. The show will run until September 30, 2020.

In conjunction with the exhibition opening on June 27, 2020, Kris Kaull, a Montana born and practicing flight paramedic will give a rousing virtual tour of the history of EMS from the earliest days to modern response. The tour will start at 3 p.m. online at: https://pulsara.zoom.us/j/9377411194.

In addition to the National EMS Museum's exhibition, there will be a selection of items from CCM's existing collection telling the story of medicine in Carter County. The display will explore the unusual origin of baby incubators, the surprising array of obsolete remedies prescribed by early medical practitioners and the life and work of Carter County's own Dr. B.B. Sandy.

The Art of Emergency Care is open to Carter County Museum visitors during regular business hours (Monday-Friday 9 to 5 and Saturday-Sunday 1 to 5). Admission is free and members of the National EMS museum will receive a 10 percent discount in the museum giftshop.
