Aaron Waala

Aaron Waala of Gurnee, IL passed quietly into Jesus' anns from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Monday morning, August 10, 2020 in his home. Aaron was born in Minneapolis, MN on March 27, 1991.

Aaron and his family, enjoyed many activities together and traveled to Japan, Yellowstone, Glacier National Park and a Make-A-Wish trip to Disneyland, Universal Studios and SeaWorld San Diego. The family enjoys making memories together.

A relationship with Jesus was important to Aaron. He attended a Bible club named AWANA as a youth, where he received the highest achievement award, called the Timothy Award, and sang in church choirs. In 2009 Aaron accompanied his youth group, brother and dad on a mission trip to Moose Jaw Canada where his testimony of faith in Jesus brought tears to the eyes of many who heard it.

Aaron excelled at playing Blizzard games, such as World of Warcraft, Heroes Of the Storm, Diablo, Hearthstone and Starcraft. He accompanied his dad, brother and a friend, Josh Canaday to Anaheim California in 2014 to the Blizzcon convention where he received overwhelming audience support as a Terran Siege tank at Cosplay night. His dad built the tank to fit around his wheelchair so he could drive it around.

He enjoyed working on his website, and delighted in wiping his opponents off the board in "Sorry." When he could, he enjoyed being in the family swimming pool.

Aaron received his Associates in Applied Sciences degree from Northland Community College and Technical Institute in Thief River Falls, MN, and later completed a B.A. at Eastern Illinois University. He was accomplished at using Apple computers, receiving two certifications from Apple after self study, and passing both tests on the same day.

Leaving earth before Aaron were his great grandparents from both paternal and maternal sides of the family. Aaron is survived by his parents, Brian and Sherri Waala, siblings Alicia Waala, Andrew Waala (Molly), Amy Cullen, nephew Leon Cullen, grandparents, Nelson and Florice Rolando, and Russell and Lois Waala. Also surviving Aaron are Sharon Ronan (David), Brenda Uechi, Renee Mcgullion (David), Shannon Rolando (Julie) and Lisa Nash (James) along with many cousins, extended family and all the many friends he has met along the way.
