Letter to the editor

September 4, 2020

I have been reading with interest the news articles about the disruption of the US Postal Service over the last week. I rely on the USPS to deliver several of my life-saving medications. The latest attempts by Postmaster General DeJoy and the Trump Administration to disrupt our access to the mail may delay my latest delivery of medication. I am terrified of what that may mean for my health and wellbeing. Some of my most important medications are delivered by mail, including my high blood pressure and heart medications. As a veteran who lives in rural Montana, access to my medication is critical. Continued attacks on my ability to receive mail could put my life at risk. I am calling on our Congressional delegation to continue working in Montana’s best interest and continue working to save the USPS.
