Conversations with God

Traveling home

September 18, 2020

Hello God, it’s me, Mara:

You know, Lord, the following is an old story, but having just ‘lost’ a couple of friends, this story seemed somewhat right on, so to speak. The author of this ‘long ago’ story is unknown, but it seemed so fitting for this little description to be shared, so here goes: “A little boy was riding alone on a train on a very hot day when all of the travelers were extremely uncomfortable; and the scenery was not too interesting at all as they passed through the desert of Arizona. A lady sitting beside the little boy asked him, “Aren’t you a little tired of this hot long ride?” The little boy smiled and said, “Yeah, I am a little hot and tired, but I don’t mind it too much. You see, my father is going to meet me when I get to Los Angeles.”

You know, Lord, sometimes we do get a little tired of all the burdens that happen to be part of our life, but it is exciting to know that You, Lord Jesus, will be meeting us at the end of Life’s Journey. The joy of being with You forever is beyond the ability of any writer to describe.

We read in 2 Corinthians 5:8 and 9; “And we are not afraid, but are quite content to die, for then we will be at home with the Lord. So, our aim is to please Him always in everything we do, whether we are here in this body or away from this body and with Him in heaven.”

You know Lord, just to think that You will be waiting at the end of our earthly journey, for our dear friends, and for us, too, when our time here on earth has finished, that just fills us with unspeakable joy, dear Lord.

Love, Mara
