CCHS netters defeat Wibaux

The Carter County Varsity Volleyball squad convincingly won their homecoming match in three sets versus the Wibaux Longhorns last Saturday. The girls won the first set 25-20, the second 27-25 and the third 25-17. Ella Owen led the way with a team-high 6 aces and 16 digs. She also tied with Katie Tooke for the lead in kills with 7. Codi Melton and Kenzie Tooke each had 2 of the team's 6 blocks and Heidi LaBree had 20 of 22 assists.

It took four sets for the Junior Varisty netters to best Wibaux: 22-25, 26-16, 15-11 and 15-13. Zoie Rost had 4 aces in the match. Codi Melton had half of Blue's blocks (2) and half of the team kills (6). Kendall Kittelmann led in aces (5 of 8) and digs (5 of 16).

On Monday, CCHS volleyball traveled to Buffalo, South Dakota to battle the Harding County Lady Ranchers. The girls battled but lost the match in four sets (19-25, 25-23, 13-25, 21-25). Heidi LaBree had 4 of the team's 11 aces and 16 of 19 assists. Kenzie Tooke had 11 of 32 kills and all 6 Bulldog blocks. Kari Kittelmann had 23 of 61 digs.

The JV squad won two sets in Buffalo (25-14, 25-22). Melton had 4 aces, 6 kills and 2 blocks in the match to lead the way. Emily O'Connell chipped in a pair of aces and kills. Kendall Kittelmann had 4 assists.
