Days of '85 Pet Parade

You’ve probably already heard, the theme for the Carter County Fair this year is “Hometown Heroes’”. At first glance I thought it was going to be a tough one to work around. But, no! Think about all the people it takes to make a community flourish…volunteer firemen, linemen, law officers, beauticians, farmers, ranchers, cowboys, local businessmen, lawyers, doctors, veterinarians, teachers, nurses and veterans to name just a few.

For a number of years the Marshall Ranch has sponsored the Pet Parade at the fair with some very entertaining themes. However, Joan has decided to pass the torch. Thank you, Joan, for the years you served as the sponsor. You are a hometown hero!

Alkali, Inc. has stepped up to the plate because we think it is entertaining and a good family project. Actually, it has gone full circle because Medicine Rocks Veterinary Clinic started the Pet Parade many years ago!

We are going to increase the prize money in hopes of getting more entries. ($50 for 1st place; $30 for 2nd place; $20 for 3rd place; and the most talented duo receives $25 and every other entry will receive $5 just for participating.)

So, moms, dads, kids & pets get those creative juices flowing because we need you to make the pet parade a success.

We would like as many pre-registrations as possible in order to help with the organization. Please call or message Tori Tooke or Susan Tooke with questions, ideas or to say “We’re in!”; or go to the Carter County Pet Parade Facebook page to register or to get more information.
