13th annual football camp brings in players from all over region

Nearly 100 student-athletes participated in the 13th Annual Leaders, Legends, and Legacies Football Camp last week in Ekalaka.

The 13th Annual Leaders, Legends, and Legacies Football Camp took place last week in Ekalaka. There was an outstanding turnout at this year's camp with nearly 100 kids participating. Campers came from all over the state, North Dakota, South Dakota and even one player from Florida. Coaches shared knowledge and life lessons to the young athletes.

This year's scholarship winners showed great talent on and off the field. The $1000 John Wayne True Grit Scholarship, donated by B & B Septic of Baker, went to Kaden Huot from Helena. The $500 Paul Schillinger Scholarship, donated by Drop Time Gutter (Jay Phipps, past scholarship recipient), went to Aiden Perkins from Culbertson.

Out of the top 10 ball winners were three Bulldog football players: Turner Tooke, J.W. Elmore and Christian Ashbrook. Great job boys!

Leaders, Legends, and Legacies Football thanked all sponsors upon completion of this year's camp. Sponsors included B&B Septic, Agri Insurance (Dirk O'Connor), Cactus Cattle Company, The Events Center, Carter County High School, TSO Cantina, OCC Legacy Cuts, O'Connor Crops and Cattle, and The Hair Company Salon. Organizers were also grateful to the Town of Ekalaka for the help in hosting this year's event.
