Days of '85 Gospel Sing

August 6, 2021

The Lyle Strobel Family Band will provide entertainment at this year's Days of '85 Gospel Sing.

The Lyle Strobel Family Band is the entertainment this year for the Days of '85 Gospel Sing. They hail from the Absarokee/Columbus area. One member of the group is an old hand from Ekalaka in another life. Brook Anderson is the newest member of the band.

Both Lyle and Irene Strobel grew up in a world of music. Lyle started out playing for dances throughout southeastern Montana, and later moved up to playing in night clubs from Montana to South Carolina. Irene enjoyed playing piano for Sunday morning church services and playing clarinet in the school band throughout high school. This continued throughout college where she had the opportunity to perform with a variety of select groups. Fast forward a few years - Lyle became a christian and began to use his talent for the Lord. He and Irene both landed in Absarokee, Montana, married and started a family. Lyle took on the role of Worship Leader in their local church, and together, they continue to enjoy leading and being a part of the Worship Team.

All five of their children sing and/or play at least one instrument. The three youngest, plus one spouse, will be joining Lyle, Irene, and Brook Anderson in Ekalaka on Saturday, August 14. Daniel plays drums and sings; his wife Kayla provides background vocals. Ben is the family fiddler and sings harmonies, and the youngest Emma Jane also sings a tune or two. Not long ago, Brook and Renee Anderson moved to a place north of Absarokee and got involved with the Strobels on the Worship Team. Brook plays bass guitar.

Join them on the Ekalaka First Baptist Church lawn for a relaxing evening. Those in attendance will enjoy close knit fellowship while listening to some good old fashioned country gospel music. Bring a lawn chair or blanket at 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 14 and enjoy this family event. Refreshments are also provided. For more information, call 406-775-6760.
