Kathy Faye Talkington Frye was born May 15, 1953 to Fallace and Eleanor Talkington in Superior, MT. As a baby, Kate traveled by train with her family to Carter County where she spent her childhood. Kate attended elementary school at the Alzada School and one year at the 5 Mile School north of Alzada, MT. She then attended Carter County High School in Ekalaka, MT.

Kate loved her family dearly, especially her children and granddaughter. Spending time with her granddaughter, Emerson, gave her great joy, whether they were watching Emerson's favorite movies, reading books or playing outside. They also loved playing games together, Memory was their favorite.

Kate loved her flowers and flower beds, spending time outdoors taking care of them was one of her favorite things. She also enjoyed reading and listening to music (Country Western was her favorite). Backyard chats and visits on Main Street with friends is how she liked to spend her time. Some of her favorite times of the year were decorating for Christmas on Thanksgiving and Sunday afternoons at the Carter County Fair listening to the locals play music. Hunting season was another time of the year that she looked forward to, whether she was working at the bar, the Main Street Market or the Guest House motel. Over the years some of those hunters came to be like family.

Kate enjoyed her dog Macy and loved when she got to dog sit for her friends and family, the more the merrier at Kate's house.

Kate never met a stranger. She always greeted everyone with her beautiful big smile. She had a special place in her heart for the friendships she made while living in Camp Crook, Broadus and Ekalaka. She will be deeply missed by many.

Kate is survived by her children: Melainie Talkington; Brandon (Ann) Cornella of Spearfish, SD; Dylan Mulkey of Ekalaka, MT; son-in-law Corey Buer, and granddaughter Emerson Cornella.
