Montana Historic Preservation Grant now open

The biennial application cycle for the Montana Historic Preservation Grant (MHPG) is now open. The deadline to apply is February 28, 2022.

Grants are available for public and private entities to support the preservation of historic sites, historical societies, or history museums; this includes "brick-and-mortar" improvements to address various infrastructure, maintenance, building code, security, climate control, or fire protection issues. Funding decisions will be made during the 2023 legislative session.

The MHPG application and further information on the program can be found at: https://comdev.mt.gov/Programs-and-Boards/Montana-Historic-Preservation-Grant.

To support applicants, the Community Development Division will host a MHPG Application Workshop on January 12, 2022 from 3 - 4:30 p.m. This webinar will provide an overview of the program, timeline, and environmental review process.

The webinar registration can be found by visiting https://mt-gov.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_U2CBMKnnQbuXw4ramZ6CIA.

After registering, participants will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.

If applicants have questions about the eligibility of potential projects, they may contact the Community Development Division at 406.841.2770 or [email protected].
