Lady Bulldogs escape close call vs. Lady Cougars

The CCHS Lady Bulldogs scored 16 points in each of the last three quarters to pull away from the Lady Mustangs for a win at Jordan last Friday night. Ekalaka got to the free throw line often, but only shot 35 percent when there (11-31). CCHS went an impressive 48 percent from the field. Kendall Kittelmann hit a pair of threes and Kendall Shepherd hit three from beyond the arc in the win. Tyra O'Connor led the way for the Lady Bulldogs with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Jordan's Lindsay Lawrence had a game-high 17 points.

The Lady Bulldogs' JV squad battled in Jordan, but fell short. They scored only two points in the final frame and eventually lost by 10. Kendra Tooke had a game-high 13 points and hit a pair of threes in the contest. CCHS shot 29 percent on free throws; Jordan shot 67 percent. Ekalaka had 20 turnovers as a team.

The 12-3 Lady Bulldogs narrowly escaped with an important home-win over the 2-8 Lady Cougars of Plevna on Saturday night. CCHS was down by 5 points at halftime before outscoring Plevna 18-10 in the third. They narrowly held onto the lead in the final frame and came away with a 3 point victory. Stats for both teams were almost even. CCHS shot 80 percent from the free throw line, 39 percent on two-point field goals, and 14 percent from behind the arc. Plevna shot 73, 36 and 25 percent, respectively. The Lady Bulldogs won the rebound battle (25-18) and held a small advantage in turnovers (7-11). Plevna's Chloe Tudor had a game-high 16 points. Heidi LaBree had 14 for Ekalaka and Nasya O'Connor pulled in 8 rebounds.
