CARTER COUNTY COMMISSION PROCEEDINGS

The Board of Carter County Commissioners met in regular session on Thursday, March 31, 2022, in the Carter County Commission Board Meeting Room of the Carter County Courthouse at 214 Park Street in Ekalaka, Montana. Rod Tauck, Vice Chair and Mike Watkins, Member; were present. Steve Rosencranz, Chairman; was absent.

The meeting was called to order at 9 a.m. by Vice-Chair Rod Tauck .

There was no public comment

Kathy Rosencranz joined the meeting where she requested the option to purchase the old Public Health office furniture that was open for bids last week. She offered $100.00. Clerk and Recorder Pam Castleberry stepped into the meeting to let the group know that the desk, filing cabinet and book shelves have already been purchased by Greg Harris for $100.00.

The commissioners reviewed payroll in the amount of $208,953.18 and claims in the amount of $277,619.78.

Commissioners called Weed Department Supervisor Jesse Scott about a claim for over payment on the weed spray program.

Clerk and Recorder Pam Castleberry joined the meeting to notarize the signature on the title for the Work truck that the County Road Department sold for scrap.

The commissioners signed the letter releasing Denise Elmore from 6-month probational period for employment as the museum receptionist.

The group discussed the budget and accounting processes for Capital improvement funds. Pam outlined conversations with the auditor who will require expenditure funds to be identified as separate capital improvement funds. Commissioner Watkins made the motion to separate funds under the capital improvement funds. Commissioner Tauck seconded the motion. There was no public comment and the motion carried.

Pam confirmed the payment for the road use agreement with Denbury Resources.

The meeting broke for lunch at 12 p.m. and reconvened at 1 p.m.

Commissioner Watkins made the motion to approve the meeting minutes from March 21, 2022 and March 24, 2022 with corrections. Commissioner Tauck seconded the motion. There was no public comment and the motion carried.

The commissioners filled out the community assessment needs survey for the Fallon Carter Extension and various other emails and correspondence.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 3 p.m.
