Pet parade nearing

The Carter County Fair board and Alkali, Inc. are excited to see what the community comes up with for the fair’s pet parade this year. The theme is “How the West was won in Carter County.” Dress your pet and yourselves depicting your idea of how Carter County donated to settling the west. The event is scheduled for Friday, August 12 at 12 p.m. Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m.

Prizes consist of first place ($50); second place ($30); third place ($20); best interview ($15) and audience’s choice ($15). All entries not receiving prize monies will be guaranteed $5 for showing an effort in maki...
