CARTER COUNTY COMMISSION PROCEEDINGS

The Board of Carter County Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, November 07, 2022, in the Carter County Commission Board Meeting Room of the Carter County Courthouse at 214 Park Street in Ekalaka, Montana. Steve Rosencranz, Chairman; Rod Tauck, Vice Chairman; and Mike Watkins, member was present.

The meeting was called to order at 9 a.m.

County Maintenance Bob Jacobs joined the meeting to request the purchase of a propane heater for the shop building south of the courthouse. The commissioners agreed that he should purchase and install a propane heater.

Deputy Clerk and Recorder Judy Wright joined the meeting to present information on 2020 Chevrolet Equinox to be considered by the County to replace the 2007 Red “Ruby” Chevrolet pickup. The commission will review comparable vehicles and make a decision on a later date.

Commissioner Watkins made the motion to sign the letter presented by Human Resources officer Pam Castleberry. Commissioner Tauck seconded the motion. There was no public comment and the motion carried.

County Attorney Corbit Harrington joined the meeting.

There was a discussion regarding writing a letter supporting the improvements planned by Montana Department of Transportation on Highway 7.

Commissioner Watkins made the motion to sign the contract with Wyrick Construction for gravel crushing at the Frye gravel pit. Commissioner Tauck seconded the motion. There was no public comment and the motion carried.

Commissioner Watkins made the motion to approve the meeting minutes for October 27th, 31st, 2022. Commissioner Tauck seconded the motion. There was no public comment and the motion carried.

The commission reviewed email correspondence.

The commission placed several phone calls to MACo in regard to the Public Lands Management Program. They also placed a call to Ravalli County Commissioner Greg Chilcott.

The Commission tabled the decision regarding sending the funds for the Public Lands Management Program.

Commissioner Watkins made the motion to approve the Contract for Accounting Services from Denning Downing and Associates. Commissioner Tauck seconded the motion. There was no public comment and the motion carried.

The Commission reviewed the Capital Improvement Plan.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 3:05 p.m.
