EVFD, EMTs to host benefit dinner for Wright

Ekalaka Volunteer Fire Department and Ekalaka area EMTs are hosting a free will pancake supper in support of longtime fire chief and community supporter Mark Wright. The supper, along with a silent auction, will be taking place at Wagon Wheel Café in Ekalaka from 4 to 7:30 p.m. this Sunday, June 11.

In April, Mark was diagnosed with a myelodysplastic syndrome, a group of cancers in which immature blood cells in the bone marrow do not mature or become healthy blood cells.

In addition to the pancake supper, donations can be made at Community First Federal Credit Union in Ekalaka to the Mark Wright Benefit Account.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the evening will go towards travel and medical expenses incurred by the Wright family.
