Nearly perfect weather with a high temperature of 75 degrees gave a large crowd of spectators a pleasant opportunity to enjoy the Ernest Tooke Memorial Match Bronc Ride and Futurity on Sunday afternoon at Ekalaka Track and Arena. Heavy rainfall this month made for a muddy arena, as evident in this picture of ranch bronc rider Josiah Middle Rider of Ashland coming off of a Dean Clark horse. The ride was Middle Rider's last; he died early Monday morning in a one-vehicle crash.
