Hansen, Kreitel reelected

Southeast Electric Cooperative held an annual meeting last Friday at Carter County High School. One hundred and forty-seven members registered and members of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church served 231 people.

Attendees ate a free roast beef dinner and received a pack of LED light bulbs. Several who attended were lucky enough to win a door prize, and two even received $500 cash grand prizes.

Albert Paul gave the president’s report, Karen Kreitel gave the treasurer’s report and Jack Hamblin gave the manager’s report.

As of December 31, 2017, the cooperative had $15,993,348 in assets and $15,993,348 in liabilities. The cooperative had $7,526,136 in revenue and $6,670,411 in expenses for a net margin of $855,725 in 2017. Twelve more members were billed in 2017 than 2016. Members of the cooperative used 134.45 KWH in 2017 compared to 128.69 in 2016. Southeast Electric purchased 66,683,249 KWH in 2017.
