Service dog presentations, Feb. 12

The local VFW Auxiliary will serve as host when Faithful K9 Rehab comes to town next Tuesday, February 12. Faithful K9 Rehab Center, based out of Willard, specializes in service dog raising and training. Service dogs are a special category of working dogs that show immense courage and skill on a daily basis.

The center's dogs are specially trained to assist people with all kinds of disabilities, providing vital and often lifesaving support to those who need it most.

People are often surprised to learn that there are many different types of service dogs. These include guide dogs, autism service dogs, hearing dogs, diabetic alert dogs, seizure response dogs, medical alert dogs, allergy detection dogs and PTSD dogs.

Presentations will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Dahl Memorial Healthcare and at the senior center at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. The 6 p.m. presentation will be followed by the monthly Carter County Chamber of Commerce meeting. The public is cordially invited to any of the presentations.

Juanita Rost from Faithful K9 Rehab Center will have a couple of her favorite dogs with and will speak about her history raising and training service dogs. She has rescued and placed many different breeds of dogs, but most recently has concentrated on training service dogs for veterans.
