Glenn Wash

 

Glenn Wash, age 83, of Broadus, MT, passed away at Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City, MT, on July 17, 2021.

Glenn, the middle of five children, was born to Charles "Pod" and Florabel (Harkins) Wash in Ekalaka, MT June 21, 1938. He was raised on the family ranch in the Chalk Buttes area near Ekalaka. After two years of high school in Ekalaka, he completed two years of vocational automotive training in Glasgow, MT, graduating in 1956. After serving a standard term of enlistment for the US Army. Glenn married Carol Bull of Otter, MT, in Broadus, MT, July 11, 1959. The couple moved to Deadwood, SD, where Glenn worked at the local Dodge dealer, then to Sheridan, WY in 1960 where Glenn worked at the local Ford dealer. In 1961 the couple moved to Quietus, MT, and Glenn was employed with the ET Ranch. Jeff was born February of 1961 and Michelle came along in May of 1963. In 1965, they bought the Thex Homestead from one of Carol's uncles.

In 1974 Glenn began taking flight instruction and bought an aircraft to patrol livestock on the Forest Service grazing permits. He loved flying so much that he built it into a business that he operated along with the ranching.

In 1998 Glenn and Carol moved to Broadus with Carol being admitted into the Powder River Manor. Carol died July 22, 2003.

August 2, 2006, Glenn married Diane Taylor of Circle, MT. Together they went trucking full time, specializing in hauling honey bees which they did until Diane's passing April 29, 2011. Glenn continued trucking until 2019 when he sold his truck. To keep busy and occupy his time, Glenn became very active in braiding from repurposed lariats which he did until his passing.

Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, wife Carol, wife Diane, brother-in-law Lee Thomas, and sister-in-laws Joanne Wash and Peggy Vivian.

Glenn is survived by son Jeffrey (Rebecca) Wash, daughter Michelle Wash, grandchildren Orrin and Sara Parker, sister Norella Thomas, brothers Harlan (Diane) Wash, Mick Wash, Warren (Darlene) Wash, sister-in-law Carolyn Bull, along with 7 nephews and 11 nieces. Glenn is also survived by his cats Skeezix and Big Yeller.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 26, 2021 from 1 to 6 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Broadus. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Faith Bible Church in Broadus. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Valley View Cemetery.
